ARM data dashboards

HCA's analytics, research, and measurement (ARM) dashboards focus on health service utilization by Apple Health (Medicaid) enrollees.

Find information on the use of health services by Washington State Medicaid enrollees.

Dashboards

The ARM dashboard suite consists of:

  • Several individual dashboards.
  • Links to publicly available ARM data products.
  • A group of dashboards known as the "Healthier Washington Dashboard," which is specific to Initiative 1 of the Medicaid Transformation Project.

Dashboards and related data products support the data needs for regional and local health assessment and planning. This includes:

  • Medicaid-related data for Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs), local health jurisdictions (LHJs), and other state, regional, and community partners.
  • Access to interactive quality, performance, and provider information, integrating data from multiple sources, including Medicaid claims and enrollment data, immunization data, and survey data.

The dashboards do not display any personally identifying information and follow data governance guidelines for aggregating and de-identifying source data, as well as small number suppression. This ensures enrollee confidentiality is maintained at the highest standards, while also providing actionable and transparent data and analytics.

How will the data meet the needs of ACHs and others?

ACHs, LHJs, and other community partners need data and information about the people in each region to:

  • Conduct regional health assessments.
  • Engage in planning for health improvement.
  • Measure health outcomes.

The dashboards support the need for ACHs and others to have actionable data on population health and social determinants of health. As user needs evolve, this dashboard suite will also evolve to present timely and relevant information on populations of interest, with a planned quarterly update of information.

What are other state data sources?

Health Care Authority (HCA)

HCA purchases health care for more than 2.5 million Washington residents through the Apple Health (Medicaid), Public Employees Benefits Board, and School Employees Benefits Board programs.

In addition, the Washington All-Payer Health Care Claims Database (WA-APCD) collects data on more than 4 million Washington residents. The WA-APCD provides transparency on cost of health care services and the quality of providers and facilities.

Department of Health (DOH)

The Washington Tracking Network (WTN) and other dashboards from DOH provide users with data and information about environmental health hazards, population characteristics, and health outcomes statewide.

Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS)

DSHS' Research and Data Analysis Division provides data, analytics, and decision support tools to improve the delivery of services that transform lives.

Office of Financial Management (OFM)

OFM provides users with data and research on Washington population and demographics. They conduct research on a variety of issues related to demographics, public policy, and the state budget. This includes data and trends at the statewide, county, city, and annexation levels, as well as a variety of health care-specific topics.

Washington Health Alliance

The Washington Health Alliance is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that shares the most reliable data on health care quality and value in the state. They help providers, patients, employers, and union trusts make better decisions about health care.

How might some dashboard data look different from other state data sources?

Our ARM dashboards and data related to Medicaid Transformation work are intended to be used in tandem with other data sources. HCA works with all state partners to continue building a robust, easy-to-use, and consistent reporting and data infrastructure that informs state, regional, and community health decisions.

There are various methods of reporting data. Learn more about ARM methodology by visiting the Technical/Specification Documentation page located on each dashboard or emailing the ARM team.
