Potential government shutdown

In the event of a federal government shutdown, individuals enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid), Public Employees Benefits Board, and School Employees Benefits Board coverage—and those accessing behavioral health services—will not experience a disruption in care. In addition, health care providers will continue to be paid for the services they provide.

If a shutdown occurs, we will share more information at that time.

Continuous eligibility for kids under age 6

Children eligible for free Apple Health for Kids will stay covered through the month they turn six years of age regardless of changes in household income. This is known as continuous eligibility. This change also applies to children enrolled in Children’s Institutional Medical, also known as Long-Term Family Medical (K01).

Continuous eligibility for Apple Health for Kids

Continuous eligibility for kids enrolled in the free Apple Health for Kids program changed with Apple Health redeterminations restarting after the public health emergency ended. Some kids may lose coverage during the renewal process until systems are upgraded to support this new policy. If this happens, processes are in place to reinstate coverage.

Continuous eligibility for kids age 6 and older

Children on free Apple Health for Kids who are over the age of six or those enrolled Apple Health for Kids with premiums, regardless of age, receive twelve months of continuous eligibility
