Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs pharmacy closures in the Uniform Medical Plan Network

Beginning June 12, 2025, multiple Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs locations are closing. Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) members currently filling prescriptions at Rite Aid or Bartell Drugs pharmacies will need to transfer prescriptions to a different pharmacy in the UMP network. Members may continue to fill prescriptions at their current Rite Aid or Bartell Drugs pharmacy until the store closes or transfers ownership.

Members who have recently filled a prescription at a Rite Aid or Bartell Drugs pharmacies will receive a letter from ArrayRx with more information. The closing pharmacy will notify affected members whose prescriptions have been transferred to another pharmacy, but that pharmacy may not be in the UMP network. For example, CVS is an excluded pharmacy. Claims for drugs purchased at excluded pharmacies are not eligible for reimbursement and costs will not apply to the out-of-pocket limit or deductible.

Members who use a non-network pharmacy may be charged a higher amount. If the pharmacy charges more than the out-of-network rate, the member will have to pay this additional amount, which does not apply to the prescription drug deductible or out-of-pocket limit.

The UMP pharmacy network has over 52,000 network pharmacies available across the United States. For a list of other network pharmacies, use the ArrayRx Pharmacy Locator Tool or contact ArrayRx Customer Service at 1-888-361-1611 (TRS: 711).
