National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, or simply "Take Back Day," is held biannually to provide a free, safe, anonymous, and convenient way to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs. Safely disposing of unneeded medications helps keep those around you safe by reducing access to opioids and prescription medications and preventing their misuse.
When can I take them back?
The next Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where can I take them?
Each Take Back Day, law enforcement agencies and community partners across the country host safe medication return events in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). You can find an event near you by visiting the DEA's Take Back Day website and using the collection site locator search tool.
In Washington, every day can be Take Back Day!
If you aren't able to attend an in-person event, you can still safely dispose of any unwanted medications at a permanent safe medication return location or order mail-back supplies to safely dispose of them without leaving your home.
