Plan options

UMP Classic

UMP Classic uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers, but has a lower deductible than UMP Select and UMP Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP).

Annual costs

  • Medical deductible: $250 individual / $750 family
  • Prescription drug deductible: $100 individual / $300 family 
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 individual / $4,000 family
  • Prescription drug out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 individual / $4,000 family

  • See a specialist without a referral, for most services.
  • Pay $0 for covered preventive care when you see a network provider.
  • 24/7 access to on-demand virtual care.

  • Once the prescription drug deductible is met, you will pay a coinsurance amount at a network pharmacy, which is determined by the drug’s tier. For Value Tier and Tier 1 prescription drugs, the deductible is waived. Prescription drug benefit information.
  • Centers of Excellence program for Knee or hip replacement and spine care.
  • Full cost covered for tobacco cessation and diabetes prevention programs, if you qualify.

In most cases, you must live in a medical plan’s service area to join the plan. If you move out of your plan's service area, and your medical plan is no longer available, you must select a new plan. If you do not, the PEBB Program will enroll you in a plan. You must report your new address to your payroll or benefits office no later than 60 days after your move. 

UMP Select

UMP Select uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers. The plan offers a lower monthly premium than UMP Classic and UMP Plus, but has a higher coinsurance (the amount you pay your provider) than other UMP plans.

Annual costs

  • Medical deductible: $750 individual / $2,250 family
  • Prescription drug deductible: $250 individual / $750 family
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $3,500 individual / $7,000 family
  • Prescription drug out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 individual / $4,000 family

UMP CDHP

UMP CDHP uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers. UMP CDHP covers the same services as UMP Classic, but has a lower monthly premium and a higher deductible.

When you enroll in UMP CDHP, you are automatically enrolled in a health savings account (HSA) through our HSA partner HealthEquity who manages the account. This allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for qualified medical expenses, including prescription drugs and more. Visit HealthEquity or watch their on-demand webinar to discover the many uses for your HSA. The State of Washington contributes annually to the account on an individual or family basis. Once the money is in your account, it’s yours, and there is no deadline to use it.

Annual costs

  • Medical deductible: $1,600 individual / $3,200 family
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $4,200 individual / $8,400 family (An individual on family coverage will not have their out-of-pocket limit exceed $7,000)

UMP Plus–Puget Sound High Value Network

UMP Plus has a lower deductible and monthly premium than UMP Classic while offering most of the same benefits. UMP Plus–PSHVN is a network of providers offering high quality, coordinated care at a lower cost. The UMP Plus–PSHVN network is a limited network compared to UMP Classic, UMP Select, and UMP CDHP.   • Medical deductible: $125 individual / $375 family
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 individual / $4,000 family
  • Prescription drug out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 individual / $4,000 family

  • Pay $0 for office visits with network primary care providers, including pediatricians. 
  • See a specialist without a referral, for most services.
  • Vision benefit brochure.
  • No prescription drug deductible. You will pay a coinsurance amount at a network pharmacy, which is determined by the drug’s tier. Prescription drug benefit information.
  • Full cost covered for tobacco cessation and diabetes prevention programs, if you qualify.

UMP Plus has a lower deductible and monthly premium than UMP Classic while offering most of the same benefits. UMP Plus–UW Medicine ACN is a network of providers offering high quality, coordinated care at a lower cost. The UMP Plus–UW Medicine ACN network is a limited network compared to UMP Classic, UMP Select, and UMP CDHP.
