No changes to PEBB and SEBB COVID vaccine coverage

The Washington Department of Health (DOH) has issued a Statewide Vaccine Standing Order authorizing qualified health care personnel to vaccinate individuals aged 6 months and older. This order does not follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Immunization Schedule issued on August 7, 2025, which recommended changes for those receiving the vaccine.

In early September, Washington state joined California, Oregon, and Hawaii to form the West Coast Health Alliance to develop its own immunization recommendations. The HCA is working closely with the Office of the Governor and DOH to determine how the West Coast Health Alliance’s recommendations may affect members of the state’s health programs (including the Public Employees Benefits Board [PEBB] and School Employees Benefits Board [SEBB] Programs) and vaccine requirements.

We support the Alliance and look forward to working with DOH to understand any impacts on PEBB and SEBB coverage. Currently, there are no changes to PEBB and SEBB vaccine coverage for 2026.
