Program requirements

You may be eligible for Apple Health for parents and caretakers coverage if you:

  • Have dependent children under the age of 18 living in your home.
  • Have annual household income at or below the income standard (see income chart below).
  • Are a U.S. citizen or meet Medicaid immigration requirements.
  • Are age 19 through 64.

Health Care Extension program

If you have been enrolled in Apple Health for Parents and Caretakers for at least three out of the last six months and are now over the income limit, you may qualify for up to 12 months of extended coverage through the Health Care Extension program.

When you update your income in Washington Healthplanfinder, you will automatically be transitioned to this program if you’re eligible—no separate application is needed.

How to apply for Apple Health coverage

When you’re ready to apply, you’ll need:

  • Your household monthly income.
  • The Social Security numbers and dates of birth for each member of your household.
  • Your immigration information, if that applies to you.

Not eligible? You may still qualify for other services.

If you’re not eligible for Apple Health, you may qualify for help with your health insurance or for other health services. Visit Washington Healthplanfinder or use the WAPlanfinder app to learn if you qualify.

Enrollment next steps

If you’re accepted, you'll receive a ProviderOne services card in about two weeks. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month in which the application was submitted. You'll have the option to select a managed care plan online or you'll be auto-enrolled into a plan. Learn more about enrollment next steps.
