Vision plans and benefits

PEBB members have three vision insurance plans to choose from: Davis Vision by MetLife, EyeMed, and MetLife Vision. Learn about each plan and find resources to help you choose. If you cover dependents, everyone must enroll in the same dental plan.

Find the vision plan that's right for you.

Vision insurance reduces or eliminates out-of-pocket costs for eye exams and preventive care—helping to cover the cost of vision expenses. It can also be used to pay for glasses (both frames and lenses) or contacts to correct vision problems.

Plan options

Explore each vision plan to see which plan is best for you. If you do not select a plan, you will be automatically enrolled as a single subscriber in MetLife Vision.

Compare vision plans and benefits

Compare vision plans to find out what services are covered, which providers are in-network, and your costs for care.

Visit the following PEBB Virtual Benefits Fair webpages to find information on benefits coverage (full and summary) for each plan. To see in-depth coverage options, review each plan's benefits booklet (Certificate of Coverage).

All three vision plans are available in Washington and nationwide.

Premiums

If your employer offers this coverage, your vision insurance premiums are paid for by your employer.

Notice for employees of employer groups

If you work for a city, county, port, water district, hospital etc., check with your payroll or benefits office to see if you have PEBB dental coverage as part of your benefits.

Find providers

Check each vision plan's provider directory to learn about their providers and see if your current provider is in network.

Insurance ID cards

You do not need an insurance ID card to receive routine vision services. If you have questions, contact the plan.
