Apple Health Notices Workgroup

Who we are

The Washington Apple Health Notices Workgroup is a collaboration between the Health Care Authority (HCA), clients, partner agencies, and stakeholders.

What we do

Our goal is to improve Apple Health (Medicaid) notices and forward-facing materials to increase readability, ease of understanding, and increase consumer confidence.

Three sub workgroups meet on a quarterly basis:

  • Client group - comprised of members who represent Washington's diverse population, including those with Apple Health experience and/or others who read Apple Health notices including, but not limited to young adults, families and caregivers.
  • Professional partners group - comprised of members who represent the Apple Health community partners and advocates.
  • Staff and agency partners group - comprised of staff members who have direct experience working with Apple Health clients.

Notice review process

  1. The workgroups collaborate and provide feedback on the development and/or refinement of Apple Health eligibility notices and publications.
  2. Once a notice is reviewed by all three workgroups, the recommendations are sent to agency stakeholders and subject matter experts for review and feedback.
  3. The notice is then sent to the agency communications department to ensure alignment with brand, style guidelines, and agency standards.
  4. Final products are presented to the workgroups at the following meetings or through email.
  5. Facilitators coordinate with partner agencies to implement system changes.
