An employee assistance program (EAP) helps employees and sometimes family members address work and life concerns.
EAPs are usually free and confidential programs designed to promote health, safety, and well-being. They often support a wide range of issues such as depression, stress, addictions, anger, parenting, relationships, and grief and loss.
Many public employees have access to the Washington State Employee Assistance Program.
All other employees should start their search with their human resources or benefits department.
Start by finding out what EAP your organization has access to so you can promote the service to your staff. Your EAP might even have resources to help you promote it.
