Why live tobacco free?

Living tobacco free helps you breathe easier, feel better, and have more energy to do what you enjoy.

You can also save money. As a PEBB member, you save both the money you would use to buy tobacco and the $25 monthly tobacco use premium surcharge.

Here are three more reasons from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to live tobacco free:

1. Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body.
2. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.
3. On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.

Who is eligible?

All subscribers and their dependents (ages 18 and older) enrolled in a PEBB medical plan. Some plans also offer tobacco cessation resources for teens.
