The Health Care Authority (HCA) website now houses public notices
Following a change in federal law, we are now able to offer State Plan Amendment (SPA) public notices on our website.
What is a State Plan Amendment (SPA)?
SPAs are formal requests made to change Washington’s Medicaid State Plan—the blueprint for how Medicaid is administered in our state. They must be submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval, but before a SPA can be submitted, the public must be notified.
Previously, notices were published twice a month in the Washington State Register, or in newspapers. This new process allows us to make SPA-change announcements available immediately through a searchable listing on our website.
