The Health Care Authority (HCA) released two requests for information (RFIs) for fully insured group medical plans and group vision insurance plans. The redacted responses are available to view on HCA’s Bids and contracts webpage.

HCA issued these RFIs to collect information about the benefits currently offered by the plans, and details about the benefit design, cost, geographic coverage, and network adequacy of the plans. The carriers decided what information to redact from the public record, which includes confidential or proprietary information such as rates.

HCA received responses from the following carriers:

  • Aetna
  • Kaiser Permanente Northwest
  • Kaiser Permanente Washington (HMO)
  • Kaiser Permanente Washington – Options (PPO)
  • Premera Blue Cross
  • Providence
  • UnitedHealthcare

  • Ameritas
  • Davis Vision
  • EyeMed
  • Metlife
  • Northwest Administrators, Inc.
  • Premera Blue Cross
  • Superior Vision
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Unum
  • VSP

HCA has begun using the data to inform the upcoming procurement for fully insured group medical and vision benefits for the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program.
