Washington Prescription Drug Program (WPDP) Discount Card

The WPDP Discount Card provides prescription drug discounts for those who don't have prescription drug coverage.

Who is eligible to receive a Discount Card?

All Washington State residents are eligible for the WPDP Discount Card. There are no age or income restrictions. The Discount Card does not cover prescription drugs prescribed to animals.

Who can benefit from the Discount Card?

Washington residents who have a high-deductible insurance plan may be able to use the Discount Card during the deductible period (check with your insurance plan for details). If you have no prescription drug insurance coverage, enroll in the WPDP Discount Card Program so you can receive discounts. Even residents who have prescription drug coverage that doesn't cover all drugs can still obtain savings.

The Discount Card cannot be combined with insurance, Medicaid or Medicare pharmacy benefits, or used to cover any out-of-pocket copayment from your insurance plan. It can be used for prescription drugs not covered by your insurance plan, or by Medicare beneficiaries who do not have Part D coverage.

What will it cost me?

There are no annual fees or hidden costs. All drugs with a prescription are eligible for a discount. You can save up to 60 percent on generic drugs and up to 20 percent on brand name drugs. It is similar to a grocery store club card where discounts are given at the cash register.

You can look up your drug prices before you enroll. The retail and mail order prices shown are the prices you'll pay. To change the retail pharmacy to one near you: click on "Change", enter your address or ZIP code, select your desired pharmacy and your pharmacy will be added to the price list.

Who are the participating pharmacies?

We have over 1,100 participating retail pharmacies and also offer mail order and specialty pharmacy services. Find participating pharmacies near you. If you don't live near a participating pharmacy, you can use the mail order service through Postal Prescription Services with free shipping for Discount Card members.

How do I enroll?

There are several ways to enroll:

You will receive your Discount Card one week after your application is received.

Bulk mail-in enrollment cards can be ordered for free by businesses that work with the uninsured. Enrollment cards are all postage-paid.
