The Health Care Authority (HCA) recently released two requests for information (RFIs) for fully insured group medical plans and group vision insurance plans. This is the first step in fulfilling some of the procurement resolutions adopted by the School Employees Benefits Board (SEB Board) on March 15, 2018.

HCA issued these RFIs to collect information about the benefits currently offered by the plans, and details about the benefit design, cost, geographic coverage, and network adequacy of the plans. HCA will use this data to assist in the upcoming procurement and implementation of fully insured group medical and vision benefits for the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program. In addition, HCA hopes the RFI for the fully insured group medical plans will help inform the school employee collective bargaining process for summer 2018.

Interested carriers may access the RFI documents on HCA’s Bids and contracts webpage, or on the Washington’s Electronic Business Solutions (WEBS) for Vendors site.

Responses are due April 24, 2018, for vision insurance plans and April 27, 2018, for medical plans.
