Preventive care
What is preventive care?
Preventive care focuses on protecting, promoting, and maintaining people's health and well-being.
Why promote preventive care?
All of us should visit our health care provider from time to time, even when we are or think we are healthy. We call these regular check-ups preventive care visits. By focusing on prevention instead of treatment, these visits can help us maintain or improve our health by avoiding serious problems through early detection.
How can I help?
Start with SmartHealth to add a customizable online experience to your worksite wellness efforts. Employees can join a preventive care activity you promote from SmartHealth on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, making it easy to stay engaged both in and out of the office.
You can also promote the preventive services offered with our benefits package, host a worksite event, or offer self-care resources. Here are some examples of what you can do to help promote preventive care for your organization:
- Host a flu shot clinic.
- Promote family health history awareness.
