Medical Coverage
Basic Health
Low-cost health care coverage for Washington State residents who are:
- Within Basic Health's income guidelines;
- Not eligible for free or purchased Medicare;
- Not institutionalized at the time of enrollment; and
- Not attending school full-time in the United States on a temporary student visa.
Basic Health is currently full and is not processing applications. Foster Parents, Personal Care Workers, Maternity Benefits, and Basic Health Plus (for children under 19 years old) applicants may still apply.

Office of the Insurance Commissioner
If you don't have access to a group insurance plan, the Office of the Insurance Commissioner will help you will help you find individual health insurance coverage. Individual coverage is health insurance you buy directly from an insurance company for yourself or for family members. You will find a list of insurance companies that offer coverage for individuals, the counties they serve, sample rates, and contact information.
